My name is Shawn Shelley and I graduated from Trinity College Dental School in 2012. A Montana native, I now work as an Associate Dental Surgeon in a private practice in Singapore.

Surinder has worked in NHS and private practice in the UK and now practises as a general dental practitioner in Singapore. Holding a holistic view to healthcare she enjoys working with anxious patients, carrying out oral surgery and is involved with public oral health teaching.

Thomas Graydon graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2014. After graduating he moved to Bunbury, two hours south of Perth, to work as an associate dentist in a private practice.

Daniel is a first year longitudinal foundation dentist qualified from Newcastle University in 2014 and is currently working between York hospital and general dental practice.

Adele graduated from Newcastle University in 2013 and has been working in general practice ever since. I have written this article to try and give an insight into my experience of working for a dental corporate, which can often be given a bad name.

Nikki Patel graduated from Kings College London in 2010. Having completed her foundation training year within the Oxford Deanery, she then spent two years as an associate in general dental practice. Following this she decided to gain secondary care experience working as a dental core trainee in oral and maxillofacial surgery, before securing a post as a community dental officer.

Rosie is currently a final year student at Barts and the London. During her fourth year she went on an Erasmus Exchange to the Karolinska Institute in Sweden for three months. Rosie says, "Whilst there, I was able to treat patients and it was a good experience to both practise dentistry and to live in another country."

Rosie studied at the University of Sheffield and qualified in 2011. "Having been qualified for over three years, I've worked in five different practices, along with many older dentists. I'm always interested to see how other dentists work, and what works for them. I have written this article to share the different techniques and approaches used by dentists trained at different times."

Natalie Bradley studied at Newcastle Dental School and qualified in June 2014. "I wrote this article based on a talk by Jane Merivale who talked at the FGDP Open Day" "it is an explanation of how complaints come about and how to manage them in practice."

Milan Chande graduated from the University of Manchester in 2014. As a passionate user of technology, I feel there are many ways in which Young Dentists can help improve the level of service offered to patients at dental practices.

When the practice receives a complaint it must acknowledge the complaint not later than 3 working days after the day on which it was received. At the same time, an offer must be made to discuss with the patient the handling of the complaint and the likely period for the investigation and response.
