LOOK FORWARD TO A LIFETIME OF PROTECTION

Along with the support we offer, you can also call upon our advice services should you have any ethical or legal concerns during your studies. Plus, when it comes to your electives, your membership provides you with the right to request access to indemnity.
Whatever stage of your studies you are at, and beyond as your career progresses, you can always:

Call our advice line for impartial, expert and knowledgeable guidance from one of over 70 professional advisers and specialist lawyers, many of whom are dentists themselves.

Call on our defence services which give you the right to request legal representation should you ever need it.
As the world's leading defence organisation, we also offer support and advice throughout your career.

We’ll be attending fresher fairs up and down the country.

What is professional protection and why do I need it?

During your training, you’ll start putting into practice what you’ve learned by going out on clinical placement. Professional protection can assist you with any dentolegal problems that might arise from your work on placement, such as:
  • taking a history or performing a physical examination of a patient
  • communicating with patients and relatives
  • sharing information with colleagues
  • dental school fitness to practise proceedings
  • any criminal proceedings arising from seeing patients during your training.
What is a DDO?
Dental defence organisations give you the right to request indemnity should you face any claims or complaints in your clinical practice. But at Dental Protection we go beyond defence to give you the support you need during your studies
