You've been redirected to Dental Protection from The Young Dentist website. We recently merged The Young Dentist with its parent site www.dentalprotection.org. You'll find all the same information here, but also benefit from further help and advice provided by the wider Dental Protection site.
The site's search features will allow you to find information specific to your field and requirements, covering everything from Publications and Case Studies, to Conferences, e-Learning and membership information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us on [CONTACT EMAIL].
Stress has always been a feature of everyday life for people in all professions. But the demands on healthcare professionals can put them under particular pressure because of the responsibility for the well-being of their patients.
Added to these stresses are those caused by receiving and dealing with complaints, clinical negligence claims, disciplinary matters, and other dentolegal issues, and our counselling service has been introduced specifically to assist members suffering from stress.
The counselling service is provided independently by ICAS. ICAS offers a personal and professional service tailored to your requirements and delivered by fully-trained, qualified and registered psychologists and counsellors.
ICAS's in-house telephone counselling provides immediate access to support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and face-to-face counselling sessions can be arranged near to you and at your convenience.
The service is entirely independent and confidential – we are not informed of members’ contact with ICAS – and accessing the service is easy. Simply contact your dentolegal case handler who will be able to provide you with ICAS's telephone number.
If you have not reported a matter to us, but are suffering from stress as a result contact our advice line and ask to speak with a adviser.

Our workshops are expertly facilitated, using a blend of presentations, small group discussions and activities, case studies, reflective exercises and opportunities to rehearse skills.
