Share your design idea for our next Dental Protection t-shirt and be in with a chance of winning up to $1,000*. We are looking for creative original designs from current dental students, and the winning design will be printed on our new t-shirt. The winner will receive $1,000, second place will receive an Apple Watch Series 7, and third place will receive a $200 Visa Gift Card. 

To enter, submit your entry via the submission form. There can only be one submission per person, and designs must be original, dentistry themed, and supplied as a one colour design, either hand drawn or digital. Please submit as a PDF or vector file. The competition closes at midnight (AEST) on Friday 28 April 2023. 

All current dental students in Australia are eligible to enter. Winners will be contacted using the contact details on the submission form and announced on social media.

Selection of the winner:

All designs will be screened and those that meet the terms and conditions of the competition guidelines will be judged by Dental Protection staff in Australia. The winners will be notified using the contact details on the submission form.  

Terms and Conditions

  • Dental Protection Australia – Student Design Competition. Dental Protection Australia is giving away: 1st prize - $1,000, 2nd prize - Apple Watch Series 7, and 3rd prize - $200 Visa Gift Card to the winners of the competition.
  • The prize draw (the "Prize Draw") is open to all current dental students located in Australia.
  • Employees or agents of The Medical Protection Society Limited ("MPS", "We"), its group companies or their family members, or anyone else connected with the Prize Draw may not enter the Prize Draw.
  • Entrants into the Prize Draw shall be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
  • To enter the Prize Draw, entrants must submit their t-shirt design through the online submission form listed on the competition landing page. MPS accepts no responsibility for entries that fail for any technical or other reason.
  • Designs must be original, dentistry themed, and supplied as a one colour design, either hand drawn or digital. Please submit as a PDF or vector file.
  • Any offensive designs will be automatically disqualified from the competition. Dental Protection has the right to use entrant artwork in promotional material.
  • The closing date of the competition is midnight (AEST) on Friday 28 April 2023. Entries received outside this time will not be considered.
  • Three winners will be selected by a panel of judges from Dental Protection Australia.
  • The winners will be notified on Friday 12 May 2023 through the contact details provided in the submission form.
  • First prize will be transferred to the winner via bank transfer once they provide bank account details.
  • Second and third prize will be delivered directly to the winner once they provide a delivery address within Australia.
  • The winners will be notified through the contact details provided on the submission form. If a winner does not respond within one week of being notified, a second point of contact will be made. If a winner does not respond within a further week, then the winner's prize will be forfeited. If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner's prize will be forfeited, and the prize will be re-drawn.
  • The prize is non-exchangeable and non-transferable.
  • MPS shall use any personal information supplied as described in its privacy notice – a copy of which can be seen at www.medicalprotection.org/privacy – and in accordance with data protection legislation.
  • MPS shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside of its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, cyber-crime, data breach, supervening legislation, or any other circumstances such as tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, or technical failures.
  • MPS reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Prize Draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected, or actual fraud). The decision of MPS in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered.
  • The Prize Draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

“Dental Protection member” in Australia means a non-indemnity dental member of MPS. Dental Protection members may hold membership independently or in conjunction with membership of the Australian Dental Association (W.A. Branch) Inc. (“ADAWA”).
    
Dental Protection members who hold membership independently need to apply for, and where applicable maintain, an individual Dental Indemnity Policy underwritten by MDA National Insurance Pty Ltd (“MDANI”), ABN 56 058 271 417, AFS Licence No. 238073. MDANI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MDA National Limited, ABN 67 055 801 771. DPLA is a Corporate Authorised Representative of MDANI with CAR No. 326134. For such Dental Protection members, by agreement with MDANI, DPLA provides point-of-contact member services, case management and colleague-to-colleague support.
    
Dental Protection members who are also ADAWA members need to apply for, and where applicable maintain, an individual Dental Indemnity Policy underwritten by MDANI, which is available in accordance with the provisions of ADAWA membership.
   
None of ADAWA, DPL, DPLA and MPS are insurance companies. Dental Protection® is a registered trademark of MPS.
