Our Dentolegal Advisers
Our experienced team of over 60 dentolegal advisers is here to help you. Our advisers are all dental professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, including experienced and practising dentists. Many of our advisers have a legal qualification in addition to their dental qualifications. The majority of our dentolegal advisers still practice dentistry and are very aware of the issues that face colleagues on a daily basis.
Around The World
The main jurisdictions where Dental Protection has members besides the UK are Australia, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Caribbean and Bermuda, Israel and Kenya. However, we do have smaller numbers of members in other countries, so it is often possible to continue your membership, even in unlikely places, for example if you are doing voluntary work overseas.
There are some countries where we do not offer permanent membership – particularly the USA and Canada. However, even in these jurisdictions, membership offers access to dentolegal assistance for Good Samaritan acts and for students on their electives.

MPS Council is the name given to MPS’s board of directors, and the majority of its members are eminent clinicians elected by the membership. The Council meets around eight times a year. Council exercises discretion in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
As the majority of Council members are healthcare professionals, members can be assured that their cases will be dealt with by experts in the field.
The Executive Committee is tasked with assisting and advising the Chief Executive in the day-to-day running of the organisation. The Committee is made up of senior MPS employees who have extensive experience and specialised knowledge. They are committed to delivering the best possible service to members.
Dental Protection Limited Board
The Dental Board serves MPS by providing advice on developments within dentistry and sharing experience which may impact on MPS and the membership of its Dental members. This Board also advises the Council on engagement with Dental members, and their issues and needs.
