Recorded webinar: Periodontal and peri-implantitis: the final frontier of oral disease? (AU)

  • Dates: 02 – 02 Jun, 2020

Date recorded: Tuesday 2 June 2020
Suitable for: Australian dental practitioners

Despite advances in other fields of dentistry, predictably managing periodontal disease and peri-implant diseases still remains a challenge. We now recognise differences between gingivitis, periodontitis, mucositis and peri-implantitis and as these diseases are not the same, they require specific diagnosis and management strategies. Given the popularity of implants over the last 20 years, knowledge and understanding of this is becoming a critical component for every clinician.

Join Periodontist, Dr Christopher Barker for our one-hour recorded webinar and gain insight into dental implant maintenance, disease diagnosis and clinical management on the frontline of dentistry. Dr Barker discusses the differences between peri-implantitis and periodontitis, the rationale behind an implant maintenance regime and how to identify and manage potential complications associated with implants, particularly when outside influences limit what we can do.

Dr Barker is joined by Dental Protection Senior Dentolegal Consultant, Dr Mike Rutherford.

By watching this webinar you will:

  • Recognise the differences between peri-implantitis and periodontitis

  • Understand the rationale behind the maintenance regime required with implants

  • Identify and manage potential complications associated with implants
