Together, dentolegal consultants Simrit Ryatt and Jim Lafferty share their knowledge of current good practice record keeping. Gain vital insights into what the Dental Council expect to see in comprehensive records and how these can ensure continuity of patient care.

This webinar is free for members and helps you gain the skills to reduce the risk of successful complaints or claims for compensation. There’ll also be time to have your questions answered by dentolegal experts.

Simrit Ryatt
Dentolegal Consultant, Dental Protection

After qualifying from the University of Manchester Dental Hospital in 2004, Simrit stepped into her first role in a general dental practice. Over the years, she’s taught fourth and fifth year students at the Manchester University Dental Hospital, as a Clinical Fellows Teaching Assistant.

Having joined Dental Protection in 2014, Simrit worked on the Advisory Team and has since progressed to the International Dental Team. During her time with us, she obtained her LLM with merit in June 2017.

Jim Lafferty
Dentolegal Consultant, Dental Protection

Jim is a practising partner at Orgreave Dental Surgery whilst also working as a dentolegal consultant at Dental Protection. Having graduated in 1993 from Birmingham, Jim initially worked part-time whilst studying for a Master’s degree in Sports Science. He then went on to grow his practice in Sheffield, predominately with NHS work.

In the past, Jim has been the Chairman of the BDA's Young Dentist Committee, UK Council and English Council, twice elected onto the General Dental Council. Jim began work as a Local Advisor to Dental Protection in the mid 2000s and served on the Dental Advisory Panel before starting work as a Dentolegal Consultant in April 2016.
