Entries can be based on a wide range of topics; however we are looking for a young practitioner to share both their personal and professional perspective on risk management with the intent to not only benefit patients but also colleagues in the future.

The eligible topics are:

  • Ethics
  • Professionalism
  • Record Keeping
  • Cross Infection Control
  • Team Working
  • Consent
  • Communication
  • Confidentiality
  • Health and Safety

To be eligible to enter, you must be a current Dental Protection member in Australia at the time of the award deadline and must have graduated from an Australian Dental School in the last six years (Class of 2013 to Class of 2018).

The competition is not open to payroll staff of Dental Protection nor to their immediate family members.

Applicants for this award must be based within Australia or New Zealand and only entries submitted in English will be accepted. We accept no liability in the event that your entry is not received on time for any reason.

The article must be entirely the entrant’s original work, as plagiarism will not be tolerated. In addition, the article must not contain any material which is in any way defamatory, obscene, unlawful, harmful, offensive or inappropriate or which infringes the rights of a third party, and be fitting for Dental Protection (or other companies in Dental Protection’s group) as a professional organisation to publish.

All articles must be appropriately referenced using the Harvard referencing system.

All entrants should note that by entering in to the awards they are authorising Dental Protection and its group companies to store, reproduce and alter their entry at a later date. We anticipate that some of the articles entered will be used either in a publication or on our website. Credit will be given to the author of the article at the time of publishing, and all entrants authorise Dental Protection and its group companies to publish their entry along with their name, image and other relevant details to promote future events, awards, products and services.

Any entry which is suspected to be breaching confidentiality or the intellectual property rights of any third party will be disqualified.

Dental Protection’s decision as to the competition’s winner is final. Dental Protection reserves the right to alter the terms of or withdraw the competition at any time.
