Free graduate membership and extra support for dentists in the early stages of their career.

Graduate membership

Class of 2016 graduates who sign up before 31 December 2016 will receive DPL membership and indemnity insurance until 30 June 2018 at no cost! From 1 January 2017 the cost will be $55.00.

Once you start work you will need to ensure you have access to the best possible risk management advice and guidance. Become a graduate member and receive a whole range of benefits to help support you as you prepare for your future career, including access to 18 months of indemnity.  

As a member of DPL you are able to apply at the same time for a Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy with $40m of cover underwritten by MDA National Insurance Pty Ltd (MDANI).* 

We know you have a lot on your mind following graduation but we recommend you try to organise your graduate membership as soon as you can, and take full advantage of the membership package.

*The maximum limit of indemnity is $40,000,000 in the aggregate with the maximum limit of indemnity for any one claim under the policy not exceeding $20,000,000 during the period of insurance.

Excludes WA graduates – please contact the ADA WA Branch for further information on 08 9211 5600. This exclusion does not apply to WA graduates moving to an Eastern State or Territory after graduation.

Graduate membership with a difference!

DPL has extensive experience of protecting and supporting the dental profession in Australia. We provide colleague to colleague support through a team of six dento-legal advisers. Our team also has access to the expert input from DPL’s Australian Advisory Panel (spanning general and specialist practice, hospital, university, community and defence forces dentistry) and a large panel of other experienced clinical experts based throughout Australia. All this is backed up by one of the biggest and most experienced team of dento-legal advisers in the world, based in the UK, including a dedicated team of eight senior advisers (including the Dental Director) with first-hand experience of Australian cases..

Such experience ensures appropriate assistance and advice on problems relating to the practice of dentistry, including advice on law and ethics and the management of potentially difficult situations. DPL uses several specialist firms of solicitors working across each State and Territory of Australia, some of whom have worked with DPL continuously for 20 or 30 years.

ADSA Graduation Booklet 2015

ADSA has put together a Graduation Booklet filled with helpful information such as how to register with the Dental Board, setting up a Medicare provider and prescriber number and organising your dental indemnity insurance.
