Dr Christopher Barker

Dr Christopher Barker is a Specialist Periodontist and Principal of Proactive Perio. He completed his Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry, specialising in Periodontology, at Griffith University in 2014.

Dr Barker is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and has completed the Long Surgical Course Certification from Implant Team International (ITI). He recently became one of a handful of periodontists certified to be a Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) instructor at the Swiss Dental Academy.
 
Dr Barker is an active advocate of continuing education. He is currently the President of the Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS), Queensland Branch and sole director of Implant Team Internationale (ITI) Sunshine Coast.

He was a former president of the Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP) and the Australian Dental Association (ADA).

Dr Barker’s session will be facilitated by Dr Mike Rutherford, experienced Dentolegal Adviser for Dental Protection Australia.
