Minimising and managing trigeminal nerve injuries in dental practice

Claims which are the result of nerve injuries are the third largest group in terms of frequency, behind endodontics and crown and bridgework. They can also be very costly to resolve, especially when the patient’s occupation is such that the consequences of the nerve injury interferes with their employment or income. Some of these injuries can profoundly affect the patient’s quality of life, and result in significant general damages for ‘pain and suffering’ and similar grounds for compensation.

The aims and objectives of this meeting are:

To highlight some of the common avoidable causes of trigeminal nerve injury.
To provide hot tips on how to avoid them.
To provide current opinion on best management for these injuries.
