Dental Protection responds to significant growth in membership in Scotland

21 May 2011

Two years have passed since Dental Protection Limited (DPL) opened its office in George Street, Edinburgh during which time the organisation has reported a significant increase in its membership north of the border.

So much so that Dental Protection has recently appointed a third full time dento-legal adviser, Martin Foster, who joins Hugh Harvie (Head of Dental Services, Scotland) and Helen Kaney, working in Edinburgh alongside DPL’s two Associate Dento-legal Advisers Bobby Broadfoot and Clare Walsh.

In another reflection of its growing Scottish membership, Dental Protection has also appointed an additional Regional Membership Co-ordinator, Ailidh Gallagher who joins Christina Mc Niven who has been a familiar face at Scottish dental events for many years.

In welcoming these appointments, Hugh Harvie, who is DPL’s Head of Dental Services (Scotland) said,

“I am more than delighted that we have found ourselves needing to add these further members to our Edinburgh-based team. From the outset we have been determined to deliver the same outstanding level of service from the Edinburgh office that has been at the heart of Dental Protection’s international success over so many years. But this office is in no sense a “branch office” – it remains very closely integrated with the offices in Leeds and London, and we work as part of what is now a 50-strong team of dento-legal advisers, collectively managing over 9,000 dental cases at any time.

These appointments confirm Dental Protection’s commitment to our existing and new members. The Scottish office is an important part of the continuing development of our services to reflect the different dental environment here in Scotland.”
