Specialists

As a responsible indemnifier, and in the interests of both members and patients, we will try, wherever possible, to facilitate suitable indemnity for members who wish to undertake cosmetic, adjunctive and other expert procedures, some of which might fall outside the recognised scope of conventional dental practice. Some of these techniques are relatively expensive and are used in elective procedures. The patients who request such treatment tend to be a self-selecting group with high and sometimes unrealistic aesthetic expectations. Any one of these factors alone, would create an above-average potential for litigation when providing such treatment. Together, they represent a considerably greater potential risk.
