Since retiring from clinical dentistry due to illness, Iain has obtained two law degrees, a postgraduate certificate in leadership and a qualification in mentoring.
Iain has been involved with Dental Protection since 2001, initially undertaking risk management research and now assists with the Risk Partnership Programme.
He is a Committee Member of the National Oral Health Promotion Group (NOHPG). His published work includes the chapter on Human Rights and Ethical Considerations for the Prison Dentistry Handbook and the dental section for Lonely Planet's Healthy Travel Guides.
Iain's interest in the dental needs of developing countries include; Dental Editorship of the CMF Developing Health Programme, a Trustee of the dental charity Teeth Relief/Sunnymede Trust, an Advisory Board Member for the charity Bridge2Aid (Tanzania) and an adviser to the Dental Wellness Trust.
