David graduated from Birmingham in 1971 and spent a period in general dental practice in the Midlands before establishing a private practice in central London. He co-founded a dedicated dental facility for patients living with HIV disease in London, and was the clinical lead for twenty years. His textbook on infection control was published at this time. He has experience of private practice, Community Dental Service and corporate dentistry. He writes regularly for a number of dental publications and is a member of the Advisory Board of Dental Practice. He joined Dental Protection in 1999 where he is now the Communications Manager.
