Even though you will be working in Wales on a part-time basis you will still need to comply with The Private Dentistry (Wales) Regulations 2008 which came into force on 1 January 2009.

These Regulations require dental practitioners in Wales, who provide any non-NHS dental treatment, to register with Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) under the Care Standards Act 2000. This requirement is additional to any NHS Performers List obligations.

Similar regulations are being introduced elsewhere in the UK. You can discover more about the regional differences for dentists working in various parts of the UK by clicking here.
