19 November 2010 - Fit to practise? A registrant's journey through a GDC inquiry
Dental Protection are pleased to be working with the British Dental Association in order to bring you an interactive, informative and engaging event to raise awareness of the fitness to practise process, from the initial patient complaint, through to a potential fitness to practise hearing.
This innovative event will take a unique ‘behind the scenes’ look at the processes that are involved and the likely impacts, and draws upon the experience of members of the GDC, Dental Protection and the BDA.
Put yourself in the shoes of the Investigating Committee; review case notes, hear from the complainant, caseworkers, prosecution, expert witnesses and members of the Investigating and Fitness to Practise Committees. Make your own judgements on the allegations of impaired fitness to practise and consider the various sanctions available. Explore and debate some fictitious complaints and watch a hearing ‘come to life’ in a life-like re-enactment.
Click here to see the programme and then book before 30 July to take advantage of the early-booking discount.
To book your place complete the booking form and fax to 020 7563 4591, call the events team on 020 7563 4590, or email events@bda.org.
