At the end of 2013, MPS had more than £2 billion in total assets to enable us to meet the cost of claims and complaints brought against members – these assets are sufficient to meet both reported and potential future claims – a fully funded position. There are many factors which can affect future claim values and as a matter of prudence, MPS holds reserves to cover these factors.
Transparency is a key aspect of accountability to which we fully subscribe. We publish clear information about our financial position; directors’ remuneration is reported in our Annual Report and Accounts and is set by the Remuneration Committee of Council.
MPS exists solely for the benefit of members and is fully accountable to them.
