Electives
DPL operates internationally and so we are in a unique position to support you, wherever you go in the world. 
As a student member we offer you:

Electives can be an exciting time but if you are going abroad you also have to be prepared for the challenges they can present, for example, communication and cultural differences, different standards of risk management and infection control and adapting to time challenges.

Share your elective photos and you could win $500 and other great prizes!
Why not share your elective snaps and enter them in our elective photo competition? The competition is open to people who have carried out their elective this year. You can enter up to three photos of your choice. The elective competition has been running in the UK for and number of years and has been so popular. This is the first year we are launching the competition for Australian dental students so get involved!

Each year, entrants are asked to submit a project or assignments in one of the following areas:
- Infection control
- Health and safety
- Consent
- Record keeping
- Teamworking and skillmix
If your elective topic covers any of these areas, you may be eligible to enter the Premier Awards
