Following the recent unprecedented demand for tickets for DPL Australia’s latest lecture tour; “Decisions, Decisions”, presented by Dr Martin Kelleher, the organisation has just confirmed that it will continue to support the educational needs of members. The sum of over A$9 million has been announced this year to continue the educational support provided by DPL and its parent organisation, MPS for doctors and dentists. Members can now also benefit from the recently launched educational platform on the DPL website.
Dental Protection Limited Australia (DPLA) recognises the different needs of members located in large cities and those working in more remote settings. As a result an increasing amount of educational material will be made available online. In addition DPLA is maintaining its distribution of risk management publications as well as offering lecture tours and interactive small group seminars throughout Australia.
Most of these educational activities qualify for CPD that will support the requirements for national registration. Members of DPL have access to most of these resources without charge. They are a value-added benefit of membership that DPL provides for members in Australia who have their indemnity provided by MDA National Insurance.
Speaking before the 34th ADA Congress, Annalene Weston, a DPLA Cases Consultant said, “Dental Protection is a not-for-profit organisation that has long had a commitment to working with members to reduce avoidable risks to patients. In addition to many risk management publications, CDs and interactive programmes on the website, DPL also provides members with access to lectures, seminars and inter-active workshops. The Mastering Your Risk workshop is currently one of the most popular educational offerings and it originated here in Brisbane.”
