Dental regulation in Australia has been unified by the introduction of national registration and the associated requirement to participate in and record the amount of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
DPL has invested heavily in the educational and risk management resources made available to members, with over $9 million being spent in 2011 alone by DPL and/or the organisation of which it is a part.
This material varies widely – from personally selected online audit material and publications, to small-group interactive workshops and large seminars.
The aim of all of DPL’s educational material is to assist dental health professionals to optimise their risk management skills, which are in the best interest of both patients and the dental professionals themselves.
Much of this material is available free of charge or is heavily subsidised for DPL Australia’s members. Indeed the most popular download from the educational platform this year has been the video stream version of the original Communication in Dentistry programme “Essentials of Communication Skills”. Costing almost $200 to buy in its original CD format, the video stream of this version is free to members - so is the associated CPD.
