Decisions, Decisions - Second Tour

10 - 14 October 2011

Managing restorative dilemmas and patient expectations

There has never been a time when dental health professionals have been under such pressures, nor where their treatment options have been so varied and their clinical decisions so fraught with risk. Patient expectations, commercial pressures and competitive pressures have been further complicated by the less widely understood implications of National Registration and Standards, and recent Guidance documents published by the Dental Board of Australia.

Our patients are living longer and most of them expect to keep more of their teeth for longer, or even for life – but are we helping or hindering that process?

This presentation by Martin Kelleher will look at clinical decisions and outcomes in everyday practice, in aesthetic dentistry and when managing the compromised dentition. He will challenge some popular myths and explore some controversies, in terms of which teeth we restore and the likely restorative, endodontic and periodontal consequences of the treatment we provide. It also provides two hours clinical CPD.

Martin Kelleher is a once-in-a generation phenomenon, and one of the hottest properties on the UK lecture circuit. He is also in great demand internationally, having recently spoken at the 2010 FDI World Dental Congress in Brazil, in Zimbabwe and in several other countries. Throughout his career, Martin has kept a perfect balance between hospital work, teaching and private practice. His lectures are authoritative, compelling, and memorable – while also highly entertaining and thought provoking. Once heard, he is seldom forgotten. Following the popular success of his workshop earlier this year, three more dates have been added to allow more Australian members to enjoy as well as learn from Martin's presentation.
