Subscription Rates
A few years have passed since we changed the structure of some of our membership categories for members practising in Hong Kong. In particular, these changes affected those members involved in implant dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and orthodontics (when carried out by general practitioners with no formal recognised training in this speciality leading to a registerable qualification). We also introduced some changes for dentists working wholly for the Government and in other employer-indemnified positions. Click here to read the answers to the most frequently asked questions about those changes.

Notes
| 1. | Rates for scheme members apply only to members who remain current members of the Hong Kong Dental Association (HKDA) throughout the subscription year, and who pay their indemnity subscriptions via the HKDA. |
|
| 2. | As always, it remains the responsibility of the individual member at all times to ensure that he or she is paying the correct subscription, in the appropriate membership category for the work they are undertaking. Entitlement to assistance may be affected if an incorrect and insufficient subscription is being paid at the time of an incident or request for assistance. |
|
| 3. | In this grade (DAD), no indemnity is available for clinical or dental activity beyond advisory role(s) agreed in writing with Dental Protection/MPS. Members must confirm annually the nature and extent of such role(s) which must be honorary/unpaid (eg, PCMC work). |

Defined risk membership
Members who, for a variety of possible reasons, are felt to represent an atypical or adverse risk, which would not otherwise be addressed by existing membership grades. Where it is felt that these members would benefit from a structured individual risk management support programme, the subscription would include any appropriate risk management support and resources.
Following an individual assessment, members would be placed in one of eight categories with annual subscriptions ranging from HK$ 27,585 to HK$ 98,000 depending on the level of defined risk.
